Moscow calling

I had a spontaneous trip to Moscow for my friend's b'day party! It was amazing!!!!

The celebration took place in Solyanka club with all weird and marginal regulars specially dressed in funky clothes and make up for Rock '80s party. At first the place and music seemed rather strange cause it's not a typical type of party me or my friends usually go to. However, my old good friend B52 has considerably improved the situation and emancipated us from our doubts and excessive modesty.

I was dazzled by the variety of cool characters with red lipstick, mascara, torn tights, high heels and all other attributes of that period. Surprisingly even guys surpassed themselves. The winner of "the most strange and provocative outfit" nomination should be Russian model Danila Polyakov (ginger guy with closed eyes on the second foto). That was the strangest combination (strange plastic black top and tight jeans with small shabby back pack) one could choose to wear.

Just updates

I was hectically busy last week. I believe it is a rule, when nothing is happening then it is really nothing, and when everything is happening then it everything - well, I am in “everything” right now. Work is becoming busy, friends are more active, old acquaintances are reappearing and new people are rushing in my life… as a brief overview of cultural and culinary events…

Last weekend went to Frieze and my new Italian friend cooked me risotto – which was fantastic, Frieze - not that much, but we diligently spent 4 hours mocking everything around.

On Sunday met up with Ina in Cha-Cha Moon – had a proper girls chat…

then week was sleepless with plenty of work coffees and a nice catch up with our Hakassan friend on Thursday - the theme of the dinner was “we rock”.

This weekend I spent most of the time outside been to Belsize Park, Greenwich, South Bank, had a run around Rotherhithe… Autumn is amassing this year, full of colour and sun – Love it!

Photos later, as I am at work (colleagues are at the meeting, so I am wasting valuable time)

Kostia: I haven’t watched Imaginarium yet and where the hell have you been this weekend?

N: certainly i haven't watched it either since we promised to watch it together! You are gonna kill me, but i am not in the UK...)

Almost a week later...

Not much has happened since the last post.
My good friend got a job at Harrods which called for a celebration at Hakkasan. Double H, there must be a sign, don't you think?

As you know, this place is famed for its interior, Chinese food and cocktails. Therefore, it's simply impossible to have a bad time there, unless the service sucks as it may in any kind of place. Luckily, it didn't happen to us and we had a real blast with little gossiping, guzzling down and laughing.

The following few days were rather lazy. Since the birthday of my good friend was approaching I decided to visit Maria Zuretta studio in Fulham to find something fancy for her. The man behind this small bijouterie firm is a great guy who makes marvellous charms, necklaces and other things from old stuff. Their vintage look and uniqueness can't leave anyone indifferent. If you are searching for a nice present which would be like no other these items should definitely be considered =) Or you can wonder around Sunday Up Market and pick up something else, I guarantee everyone will find something to his liking.

One of those days...you know

The time has come for me to write here something as well =)
Everyone knows and at least half of you have said to themselves that a new week means a new beginning/life. Better. Different. With more joys and less problems.

Well, that was the case for me. I have decided that I'm going to put more effort into spaming potential employers in my quest for job. After spending almost a year enjoying my life, I've decided it's time to do something. However, it's not that simple which is a bit of a let down.

In order to lift my mood I asked my friend out for a lunch in a lovely L'Atelier restaurant in Covent Garden. After a few glasses of Bellini my life became so cloudless and great that I even envied myself and thought what a panicmonger I am. Being there second time the place itself and their cuisine always tempt my appetite. A perfect spot for special occasions or a date. And you are not ready to splash out, you can always go for a lunch menu (£25 for 3 dishes) which changes every time and doesn't stop to surprise you.

However, that was not the highlight of my day. What really became wonderful and amazing was meeting adorable Claudia Schiffer with her lovely daughter near Harrods. You should have heard how she calls her "Honey"! I always thought of her a regular model-turned-mother of 2 who only returned to the industry thanks to connections and friendship. But seeing her in real life left a lasting impression on me and made me change my mind.

After that encounter wherever I was meeting my friends for a tea or drink all I could talk about was how lucky I am to live in London. You know, just like one of those "Oh, boy, what a wonderful city" ads one can see in the tube.

When I came home a small surprise was waiting for me. The lovely view I had from my living room has been spoiled by scaffolding...damn it!

the first

That's the start of our small project, which should pretty much give an outline of our existance here in London... I guess this space is not only about now but about things we have done and the past and plans for future as well....

so here we go - the first post:

this weekend was lazy as ever, I was feeling a bit under the weather for the whole week so gave up sports and indulged into food and almost aimless wondering around downtowm. The pic is from new bread place we found close sloane square - has a potential for a regular spot.

Well, I wouldn't call it an aimless wondering around... For all that we did have a certain route to follow, didn't we? Second-late-breakfast, park, lunch, shops and then some small sweet treats. However, it all was nothing compated to spotting Kevin Spacey near his The Old Vic theatre...
